The Last Voice from Room 309

The Last Voice from Room 309
Room 309 of the Crescent View Hotel has been locked for more than twenty years. No guest has stayed in it since the night of August 14, 2004. The hotel still stands near a busy highway, but staff avoid the third floor after sunset.
That night, a traveling journalist named Evan Cole checked into Room 309 for just one night. According to hotel records, he arrived alone, carried a single black suitcase, and asked a strange question at the reception desk:
“Has anyone ever disappeared from this room?”
The receptionist laughed it off. Evan smiled—and took the key.
At exactly 2:17 AM, the hotel’s landline phone rang at the front desk. The call came from Room 309.
When the night manager answered, all he heard was heavy breathing, followed by a whisper:
“I’m not alone.”
The call suddenly disconnected.
Security rushed to the room within two minutes. The door was locked from the inside. When they finally opened it, the room was empty.
No Evan. No suitcase. No signs of struggle.
But something was wrong.
The bed was untouched. The bathroom was dry. The window was sealed and could not open. The only thing left behind was Evan’s voice recorder placed neatly on the table.
Police later played the recording.
At first, it was silent. Then Evan’s voice said: “Someone is standing in the corner. I can’t see their face.”
A pause followed.
Then a second voice spoke—slow, cold, and not human.
“You were not supposed to hear us.”
The recording ended with a loud static noise.
Despite a full investigation, Evan Cole was never found. No fingerprints other than his own existed in the room. The phone system showed no technical fault, yet calls from Room 309 continued—every year on August 14 at exactly 2:17 AM.
Each time, the same whisper is reported.
“I’m still not alone.”
To this day, no one knows what happened in Room 309. The hotel refuses to demolish the room, and paranormal investigators have failed to explain the voices.
Was Evan taken by someone—or something—no one can see?
The mystery remains unsolved.
